Anthony Franze` graduated from the University of South Australia in 2009, with first class honours in Industrial Design. During his university career Anthony was awarded the Consultancy award for most outstanding Industrial Design Graduate, he was also a recipient of the Chancellors’ letter of Commendation, Chancellors‘ Merit list, Deans’ merit list and inducted into the Golden Key International Honour Society. He also achieved success through competition wins for Iken Commercial Interiors and Hills Industries.
Upon graduating Anthony began his design career with Milford Industries, for the next five years at Australia’s Leading OEM Vehicle Load Restraint and after-market vehicle accessory manufacturer, Anthony designed and helped develop numerous automotive products, such as the Milford CabGard, Milford MXV-70 Cargo barriers, towbars, lightbars, cargo nets, dividers, roof racks and numerous other products.
During this period Anthony also began a successful freelance design consultancy, working with clients such as the Australian National Drag Racing Association (ANDRA). Anthony was commissioned to produce a series of drag racing themed artworks for the corporate head offices of ANDRA, situated on Greenhill Road, Glen Osmond, South Australia. Through this commission Anthony was approached by high profile motor racers to produce personal artworks for their own collections. Through his freelance work Anthony has designed products for healthcare, sports, home climate control and the electronics industry. In conjunction to this he has developed corporate identity packages , website design and offers patent drafting services.
Anthony is a firm believer in professional development and is constantly seeking new challenges, since 2009, Anthony has competed in global automotive design competitions, in particular; Local Motors, Peterbilt, Shell, Darpa, IMTS , Btwin, Domino’s, DP Customs and BMW. In 2012, Anthony was the proud winner of the BMW Urban Driving Experience Challenge, amongst a multitude of international competitors. In addition to prize money, Anthony was flown to Munich, Germany in 2013 to attend the BMW Supplier Innovation awards night, were he spoke in front of the pillars of the automotive industry about his ‘Reward Me’ concept.
From 2014-2015 Anthony lectured Industrial Design at the University of South Australia (UniSA) in the School of Art, Architecture and Design. During 2015-2016, Anthony worked for Adelaide design-based consultancy firm Icarus Industrial Design. Since July 2016, Anthony has been working at EGR Automotive in Brisbane.
Anthony invites opportunities to design products for market ; and enjoys collaborating with peers, colleagues and all of those interested in art and design.
